CRYPTOCOIN WALLET SECURITY -

Just as you would protect your own physical wallet, a cryptocurrency (virtual) wallet also need protecting. https://methodise.me

Whilst nothing is 100% safe, there are a number of security measures you can put into place to make your virtual wallet as secure as possible.

After downloading a wallet from an official cryptocoin website and installing it on your computer, open the wallet up by double-clicking it and then follow these instructions :

Encrypt the wallet - https://methodise.me

Click on "Settings" and then choose the "Encrypt Wallet" option.  Choose a lengthy and complex password to insert - one that cannot easily be guessed by hackers.  It is recommended to use an 8 character password, made up of a mixture of letters (both upper and lower case), numbers and symbols, or use a Password Manager, such as RoboForm.

Store your password in a very safe place (or on a totally separate https://methodise.me USB stick), known only by yourself.

Do not be tempted to store passwords on computers, tablets or phones.

Do not disclose your password to anyone!

WARNING :

Make sure that you'll actually remember the secret place you stored the password!

If you do happen to forget or lose the password somehow you are, in effect, saying "goodbye" to your wallet and all its contents - all of it will be lost forever!

Backup the wallet -

Click on "File" and then choose the "Backup Wallet" option.  This will create a .dat backup file, which you should never share with anyone. https://methodise.me

Some people like to store their wallet backup on a cloud-based storage system, although there have been cases where hackers have managed to steal wallet contents in the past, so this is a growing concern.

Others prefer to keep a backup of their wallets by use of a USB stick with an encryption software pre-installed.  Remember to keep this USB stick totally separate from the one you use to store actual passwords on.
